22 Dec 2014
Friday, December 19th, 2014, SOS Children's Villages Benin has received the visit of the Minister of Family, National Solidarity and persons of Third Age. She came with food to the children under care in the organisation. The Children and the SOS staff have warmly welcomed the Minister of Family on December 19th, 2014. The Ministerial delegation visited SOS programmes upon arrival. During this tour, the Minister has asked a few clarification questions to the National Director of SOS Children's Villages Benin. As usual, he answered in great details.

After the tour, it was in the multipurpose room in the SOS Children’s Village Abomey-Calavi that the National Director of SOS Children's Villages Benin has delivered his welcome speech. He thanked Madam the Minister for the visit and government. “The current regime is firmly and strongly supporting SOS Children's Villages Benin over a 5-year financial commitment. Better, other actions were taken for the well-being of children and families. Indeed, the legal provisions were made to enhance the fulfilment of the rights of children of our target group”, he added.

When it was the turn of the Minister, she first put the children in optimal conditions so that they could listen to her. So, she sang and danced with them. The place that has hosted the manifestation has vibrated because everybody was felt concerned. She has delivered her speech thanking SOS Children's Villages Benin for its daily development actions for the fulfilment of children’s rights. She later said she came on behalf of the Head of State "I come to tell you that the head of State loves you and has not forgotten you." She moved further by saying that the gift she brought this morning is the Christmas present of the head of State to the children.
